The macrobiotic diet is high in natural, unrefined foods, low in saturated fats,

What does the macrobiotic diet include?

 
  The basic macrobiotic diet includes the following balance of foods :
40-60 % whole grains : Brown rice – wheat – barley – oats – etc...
30-60 % seasonal vegetables.
10-5 % protein foods : soy products – fish – legumes .
Eat Occasionally : mushrooms – lettuce .
Avoid : peppers – potatoes – tomatoes – eggplant – spinach .
Excluded food : Alcohol – Coffee – Sugar – Spices – Meats – Eggs – Cheese.
